The role
The Phoenix Centre is an Alternative Provision based in Wokingham providing education to young people from age 9 up to 18 years of age, from across Berkshire. As part of your role, you may be required to travel to and from learning venues or our learners homes, to meet their individual needs.
As an Educational Mentor you will be supporting and inspiring our students, delivering an engaging and effective tailored curriculum, providing our students with support in building social skills and confidence. You must have a can-do positive attitude to make learning fun yet professional.
As a Mentor, your key objectives are to:
* Teach - bring our vision of INTEGRITY to life, by tailoring your teaching approach and support to each individual learner
* Inspire– build strong relationships and inspire all our learners to reach their potential
* Demonstrate Progress– support learners to recognise progress towards their goals, and develop their reflective skills
Our service is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and young people. We have a robust Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, and all staff will receive training relevant to their role at induction and throughout employment at the centre. Referees will be asked to disclose any Child Protection allegations or issues of a similar nature for all successful job applicants.
All staff will undertake Enhanced DBS Checks and others safeguarding checks that apply.
Starting Salary £22,000 to £27,000 ( this is actual pay not pro-rata )
8:30AM to 4:30PM Monday to Friday ( Term time only )
