Network Engineer

Location:

Wokingham (3 days onsite, 2 days from home)
Day Rate: £460 p.d inside IR35
SC Clearance Required

We're supporting a central government department seeking an experienced Network Engineer to deliver secure, reliable network services across a complex environment.

• Design, configure, and deploy LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN solutions.
• Monitor and optimise network performance.
• Implement and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
• Maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams.
• Collaborate with IT teams and vendors on infrastructure projects.
• Perform hardware/software upgrades and patching.
• Respond to network outages and security incidents.

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network hardware.
• Familiarity with firewalls and security appliances.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Solar Winds, Nagios).
• Cloud networking exposure (AWS/Azure) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (CCNP, Network+, or equivalent)
