Contract: 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Working full‑time on site.
Our client is a leading energy provider in the Wokingham area and is looking for a Junior SCADA Engineer to join their team during a vital transformation period. The role involves creating cleaner, greener systems that will serve generations to come. A SCADA Engineer is responsible for the real‑time operation of the electricity transmission system, ensuring safety and system security standards are always maintained.
In this role you will be responsible for maintaining data, displays and network models, including data analysis, testing, drawing displays and implementation of changes. These analysis tools are used in the Electricity National Control Centre and are critical to the safe, secure and economic operation of the electricity transmission system. You will also be expected to assist the Systems, Support and Insight Team on projects, providing support to lead engineers as required.
Skills/ Experience
- Educated to degree level is essential, ideally in a STEM related subject, (equivalent qualifications will also be considered).
- Understanding of power system operation would be beneficial, but not essential.
- Good understanding of system and data.
- Good understanding of database structures.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD would be beneficial, but not essential.
- An analytical mindset with a methodical approach to accomplishing tasks.
- A detail‑oriented mindset.
- A passion for problem solving and critical thinking.
Enhanced security checks will be required for this role.
You will be a valued member of our Adecco Emerging Talent function working onsite with a market‑leading organisation. The assignment is initially for 12 months with scope for transitioning permanently in the future, so you need to be someone with a permanent mindset.
