Power Systems | EMS | Transmission | SCADA

The Role

We are recruiting a Power System Network Model Engineer to develop, maintain and validate Transmission Energy Management System (EMS) network models supporting real-time power system operations. You will model electrical network assets, connectivity, topology and telemetry while supporting critical EMS applications including State Estimation, Load Flow and Contingency Analysis.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, maintain and enhance Transmission EMS network models.

* Create device relationships for substations, busbars, circuit breakers, isolators, transformers, transmission lines, generators, reactive compensation and HVDC assets.

* Build and validate network connectivity, topology and SCADA telemetry models.

* Support commissioning, network changes, asset updates, model migrations and EMS upgrades.

* Resolve model discrepancies across EMS, SCADA, GIS, asset management and planning systems.

* Support State Estimator, Network Topology Processor, Power Flow and Contingency Analysis functions.

Key Skills & Experience

* Strong Transmission EMS network modelling and Power System Applications experience.

* Expertise in network connectivity, device relationship modelling and transmission network topology.

* Knowledge of substation configurations, State Estimation, Load Flow and Contingency Analysis.

* Experience with GE Power On and/or GE XA/21 EMS platforms.

* Knowledge of IEC CIM standards, including IEC 61970/61968 and model exchange.

* SCADA point-to-device mapping and telemetry modelling experience.

* SQL, XML and automation scripting knowledge;
Python is advantageous.

* Experience with in a TSO, ISO, utility or power system control centre environment.

* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
