Group Financial Controller

Full-Time | Office-Based | Senior Leadership Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Group Financial Controller to join us at a genuinely exciting stage in our growth journey.

This is a visible, high-impact leadership position offering the opportunity to shape and elevate the finance function while working closely with the CFO and Senior Leadership Team. You will play a critical role in strengthening financial governance, improving performance visibility and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

The Opportunity

As Group Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of the finance function across the Group. Leading and developing a motivated team of six, you will ensure the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial information while building scalable systems and processes to support continued growth.

You will oversee the end-to-end finance cycle, including month-end close, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance. Alongside this, you will partner closely with operational and divisional leaders, providing meaningful financial analysis and commercial guidance to drive performance.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys balancing strategic involvement with operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the month-end close process and deliver high-quality management accounts with insightful commentary

* Drive the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting across the Group

* Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital to support sustainable growth

* Strengthen balance sheet integrity and oversee reconciliations and contract accounting

* Ensure robust financial controls and continuous process improvement

* Lead the year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation

* Oversee compliance across VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE and other regulatory requirements

* Review payroll processes and annual compliance submissions (P11

Ds, PSA etc.)

* Manage and optimise the accounting system (currently Microsoft Dynamics NAV)

* Develop, mentor and support the finance team to build capability and performance

* Deputise for the CFO when required and contribute as a key member of the Management Team

About You

You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least five years’ experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role. You will have strong financial and management accounting expertise, alongside proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.

Beyond technical capability, you will bring commercial awareness, leadership presence and the ability to communicate financial insight clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, agile SME environment and confident managing multiple priorities.

Experience with Dynamics NAV or Business Central would be advantageous but is not essential.
