Wintel Administrator (Active SC Cleared)
Contract:
6 month (initial).
Location:
Max 3 days per week onsite in Wokingham. Rate: £Market rates p/d via Umbrella
.
Security clearance:
Active SC Cleared required prior to appointment (minimum 10 weeks).
- Manage and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP
- Perform system patching, upgrades, and security hardening
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity
- Manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) environment
- Maintain Citrix Delivery Controllers, Store Front, Director, Workspace
- Administer Citrix ADC (Net Scaler) including load balancing and gateway
- Troubleshoot session issues, profile management, and app delivery
- Optimize user experience and performance in Citrix environments
- Manage VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter environments
- Provision and maintain virtual machines
- Configure HA, DRS, vMotion
- Perform capacity planning and resource optimization
- Backup and recovery using enterprise tools
- Provide support for end‑user devices, VDI, laptops, and desktops
- Troubleshoot issues with Windows OS, Office 365, printers, and applications
- Support VDI environments (Citrix / VMware Horizon if applicable)
- Handle incident, request, and problem management in ITSM tools (Service Now, etc.)
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs
- Implement security best practices and patch management
- Monitor vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
- Collaborate with networking, security, and application teams
- Participate in on‑call rotation and major incident support
- Windows Server Administration

- VDI technologies
- Office 365 & endpoint management
- Backup solutions
- Monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, SCOM)
- ITSM tools (Service Now, Remedy)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities
- Team player with a proactive mindset
- Microsoft (MCSA / MCSE / Azure Admin)
- Citrix (CCA / CCP)
- VMware (VCP)
- Experience in EUC/Desktop Support environments
- Exposure to scripting (Power Shell preferred)
- Knowledge of Intune / SCCM / Endpoint Manager
- Problem‑solving mindset
