Platform Architect

This is a strategic architecture role within a high-performing technology team responsible for delivering modern platform services across complex managed environments. You'll have the autonomy to influence technical direction, work with senior stakeholders and help define the next generation of enterprise platforms.

You will own the architectural vision for Kubernetes-based platforms, ensuring they continue to evolve to meet changing business demands while remaining secure, resilient and highly available.

Working closely with engineering, cloud, cybersecurity and operational teams, you will:

• Define the long-term architecture and technical roadmap for enterprise platform services.
• Design and evolve Kubernetes/Open Shift environments across cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Drive platform resilience, high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
• Design failover and recovery solutions for mission‑critical environments.
• Embed security and resilience into platform architecture from day one.
• Lead resilience testing, recovery planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural governance across multiple delivery teams.
• Influence senior stakeholders and ensure technology decisions align with business strategy.
• Champion modern platform engineering best practice across the organisation.

We're interested in experienced architects who combine technical depth with strategic thinking.

You will ideally bring:

• Proven experience as a Platform Architect or Infrastructure Architect
  .
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes
  , with Open Shift experience highly desirable.
• Experience designing enterprise platforms across cloud and on‑premise environments.
• A solid understanding of resilience, disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Experience with in large‑scale Managed Services or enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking and modern cybersecurity principles.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical teams and senior business stakeholders alike.

Exposure to frameworks such as ISO 22301
, NIST
, ITIL or certifications including TOGAF
, CISSP or CBCP would be advantageous but are by no means essential.
