Children's Transformation Commissioning Manager

I am currently representing Wokingham Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for a Children's Transformation Commissioning Manager this role will be: RG401WH
Hybrid.

• Lead key transformation programmes aligned to strategic priorities and local needs.
• Develop and implement commissioning strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate programme impact, ensuring delivery against agreed outcomes, timelines, and budgets.
• Undertake needs assessments and gap analyses to inform commissioning decisions.
• Develop and manage commissioning cycles, including service specifications, procurement, contract management and monitoring.
• Lead relational commissioning approaches, fostering trust-based partnerships and co-production.
• Provide high-quality reports, briefings, and presentations to senior leaders, elected members, and stakeholders.

• Significant experience in leading strategic transformation programmes within children's services or a related field.
• Proven track record of successful commissioning, including service design, procurement, contract management, and performance monitoring.
• Experience of working in complex multi-agency environments and leading system-wide change. Demonstrable experience of involving children, young people, and families in service development and evaluation.
