Are you a motivated Structural Engineer seeking an opportunity to contribute to innovative construction projects? Source Owls is partnering with a leading Construction Engineering Services company in the Wolcott, CT area to recruit a dynamic Structural Engineer. Join our growing team and play a crucial role in supporting all aspects of the construction process through innovative design engineering, risk mitigation, and ensuring the safety of our construction crews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a dynamic team to brainstorm conceptual designs and perform structural calculations for various construction projects.
- Design and analyze temporary structures for bridge erection, cofferdam design, critical crane lifts, and other construction-related tasks.
- Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and develop demolition plans as necessary.
- Ensure stability during temporary conditions of new bridges, viaducts, buildings, tunnels, and other structures through structural analysis.
- Perform or review calculations and design drawings in accordance with industry codes, standards, and client criteria.
- Assist in identifying design risks and developing mitigation plans to ensure project success.
- Support Project Management and Estimators by providing input on budgets, schedules, quality control, and client coordination.
- Provide on-site design engineering support, conduct inspections, and mentor Engineering Interns in the field.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering;
Masters degree or higher in Structural Engineering preferred. - 5-7 years of relevant engineering experience, with a focus on temporary structures and/or construction engineering.
- Professional Engineer licensure (PE) or eligibility within the United States.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Blue Beam, Civil 3D, and Finite Element Analysis Software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project assignments.
- Willingness and ability to access all points of a construction site in various climates and environments.
