School Counsellor Position

The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education seeks a dedicated School Counsellor. Help shape the school's Comprehensive School Counselling Program and enhance student well-being.

This position requires a licensed educator with a graduate degree in Counselling, alongside five years of teaching experience. The School Counsellor will empower students academically and emotionally while promoting a positive learning environment. Strong guidance and counselling competencies are necessary to excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement the Comprehensive School Counselling Program

• Assist students in overcoming academic and emotional hurdles

• Work closely with staff and families to support student needs

• Evaluate and report on student counseling progress

• Uphold the professional standards outlined by the Nova Scotia Teachers' Provincial Agreement

Requirements:

• Minimum five years of teaching experience

• Master’s Degree in Counselling from an accredited institution

• Valid teaching license in Nova Scotia

• Effective communication and collaboration skills

• Professional references required
