Position: Senior Manager or Director, Research and Policy The Prosperity Project

The Prosperity Project (TPP) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager or Director, Research and Policy to lead our research portfolio, including two flagship initiatives:
the Annual Report Card on Gender Diversity and Leadership and the Canadian Household’s Perspectives
.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong research and policy expertise with a clear understanding of how Corporate Canada thinks, communicates, and makes decisions
. The successful candidate will be comfortable engaging with senior corporate audiences, presenting research and insights in a compelling way, and translating data into clear, practical, and actionable recommendations
.

The Senior Manager or Director will oversee and execute research initiatives, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, develop evidence-based recommendations, and communicate findings to a range of stakeholders. This role requires frequent collaboration with internal and external partners and a strong ability to ensure that TPP’s research and policy work is relevant, credible, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Research Leadership

  • Lead the design and execution of TPP’s research initiatives, including case studies, surveys, focus groups, literature reviews, best-practice scans, and other research activities.
  • Ensure research projects are rigorous, well-structured, data-driven, and aligned with TPP’s strategic objectives.
  • Conduct and oversee research and analysis, synthesizing complex information into clear insights, practical implications, and actionable recommendations.
  • Present TPP’s research, data, and findings to executive-level audiences and other non-academic stakeholders in a way that is clear, credible, and persuasive.
  • Stay current on industry trends, corporate practices, policy developments, and emerging research methodologies, identifying implications for TPP’s work.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen, refine, and expand the reach and influence of TPP’s research portfolio.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Serve as the lead relationship manager for research-focused stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, strong collaboration, and effective project coordination.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including TPP Partners, Founding Visionaries, advisory groups, advocacy organizations, and subject matter experts.
  • Lead Advisory Group meetings and support effective stakeholder engagement throughout the research process.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for partnerships, grants, and collaborations that advance TPP’s mission and research goals.
  • Organize and lead information sessions for diverse stakeholder groups participating in or engaging with TPP’s research.
  • Represent TPP in external meetings, conferences, and forums related to research, policy, and women’s economic empowerment.

Communications

  • Produce high-quality written materials, including briefing notes, reports, white papers, presentations, and other content for non-academic audiences.
  • Translate research findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives tailored to corporate, philanthropic, and public audiences.
  • Develop presentations and communications materials that move beyond reporting data to providing practical direction and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop polished, accessible, and visually strong reports, briefs, and presentations.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively across TPP’s team to ensure alignment between research, partnerships, communications, and organizational priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment that supports knowledge sharing and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Policy, Economics, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related discipline, with 2+ years of relevant experience in research and policy analysis; or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of relevant experience in research, policy analysis, or stakeholder relations.
