The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the finance function by ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong purchase ledger experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Processing and coding a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
Matching invoices to purchase orders.
Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies.
Managing supplier accounts and maintaining accurate financial records.
Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payment runs.
Dealing with supplier queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Assisting with month-end procedures and reporting.
Allocating payments and maintaining purchase ledger balances.
Monitoring finance mailboxes and processing invoices within agreed deadlines.
Ensuring compliance with internal finance controls and procedures.
Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc administrative and accounting tasks.
Assisting with audit requests and providing supporting documentation as required.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or Purchase Ledger position.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes.
Experience processing a high volume of invoices.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
