Position Overview

Fixed Term Maternity Cover Executive Assistant – 2 positions (12 months each).

Hours:

37 hours per week.

Salary: £30,024 – £33,699 (Grade 5).

Location:

Civic Centre, Wolverhampton – office-based at least three days per week, with potential for additional days as business needs require.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior, customer‑centric executive support to the Director team, including the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and other Directors.
  • Manage diaries, email, and call enquiries to ensure the Executive team is fully briefed and prepared for meetings.
  • Capture actions and decisions from meetings, prepare meeting and conference packs, briefing notes and presentations as appropriate.
  • Prioritise and deliver on a busy workload efficiently and with a high level of accuracy.
  • Work flexibly across different areas of the council to support senior management and maintain a positive image of the organisation and city through excellent customer service.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Excellent communication and IT skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work proactively in a busy environment.
  • Experience providing executive support at a senior level.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and quick learning in a dynamic, high‑profile role.
Working Arrangements

Fixed workstyle – work in a fixed permanent council location with occasional flexibility to meet business requirements.
