We are seeking an experienced and motivated Reception Supervisor to join our busy and friendly GP practice.

This is a key leadership role where you will oversee the reception team, ensuring high-quality patient service and smooth day-to-day operations within the practice.

You will act as the central point of contact for patients, supporting both clinical and administrative teams while maintaining an efficient, professional, and compassionate front-of-house service.

Main duties of the job
  • Supervise and support the reception team, ensuring high standards of performance
  • Support staff training, development, and rota planning
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with practice policies
  • Support practice management with service improvements and patient engagement
  • Answering phone calls to respond to patient queries and managing appointments
  • Handling incoming patient emails
  • Ensuring all relevant correspondence is scanned and saved accurately into patient files on EMIS
  • Assist in data collection for practice performance indicators.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Has prior experience working within a GP practice
  • An understanding of EMIS Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work within a team Caring and empathetic nature
  • Ability to remain calm in pressurised situations
Experience
  • Experience in leadership and managing admin staff
