The postholder will provide health economics expertise and advanced analytical skills to support the organisations population health, commissioning and evaluation priorities.

They will lead the development of high quality analyses that integrate economicmodelling, clinical and population health impacts, and service use data to generate actionable insights that improve health outcomes, reducesinequalities, and inform strategic decision making.

Main duties of the job
  • The postholder will contribute to and sometimes lead complex, multi-source analytical projects to feed into commissioning, decision-making, and evaluation
  • They will contribute to and sometimes lead analytical modelling projects with a Health Economics focus
  • Act as the ICB expert on Health Economics and econometrics, developing our understanding of how we cost/value interventions, and understand cost vs. benefit
  • They will conduct high complexity analytics to as part of economic evaluation, such as cost effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis, cost-benefit analysis, return on investment, and multi-criteria decision analysis
  • Support the use of STAR allocative methods, appraising evidence, developing costing/value metrics, and training others and required
  • They will apply advanced problem structuring and appropriate statistical methods for example logic modelling and root cause analysis
  • They will work with the Data Science team, using Open-Source coding methods and source control, to deliver complex analytical projects requiring varied skillsets
  • To promote analysis and use of evidence in decision making, ensuring that the work of the team is accessible and perceived as valuable
  • Work autonomously, proactively solving health economic, statistical and analytical problems and challenges as they occur
  • Lead the team in the delivery of project plans as allocated and agreed with the Head of Data Science, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and options
