Safeguarding Consultant
Full‑time position, 37.5 hours per week. Remote with travel within the UK as needed. Salary: £doe. Closing date: 23rd July 2026 or sooner if the right candidate is hired. All applicants must attach a full and relevant CV.
Purpose of the RoleKeeping Everyone Safe by conducting investigations, sharing learning, and improving practices, processes and behaviours to underpin a strong safety culture. Sets the highest standards of behaviour across the organisation in line with the HEART principles.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, design, deliver and evaluate safeguarding training (face‑to‑face, webinars, Brainshark’s).
- Plan, conduct and summarise robust safeguarding investigations that meet the Safeguarding Threshold.
- Support managers in preparing for ASV meetings.
- Attend relevant external safeguarding meetings (ASV, strategy meetings, etc.).
- Liaise with external agencies such as the police and LADO.
- Conduct collaborative critical reviews of safeguarding incidents to strengthen organisational learning.
- Complete Safeguarding audit visits and triangulation visits, providing clear learning and measurable actions.
- Apply coaching skills to support DSLs’ decision‑making.
- Accurately complete the Safeguarding data log.
- Analyse quality data, regulatory data and safeguarding data to inform resource allocation.
- Prepare and cancel safeguarding training in exceptional circumstances.
- Categorise incident thresholds to determine the level of investigation required.
- Provide investigation outcomes in partnership with HR.
- Join allocated Safeguarding Ready to Respond Calls.
- Support regional meetings with statistical data to promote learning across the organisation.
- Attend monthly safeguarding team meetings.
- Impact quality ratings, regulatory outcomes and service level agreements positively for the safeguarding team.
- Expert knowledge of safeguarding legislation and requirements.
- Expert knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing ER and HR practices.
- Experience completing complex investigations robustly.
- Training qualification or experience delivering training.
- Coaching qualification and/or experience of coaching techniques.
- Early Years or HR qualification.
