Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Watkin Jones, we're excited to offer an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join our team, leading the delivery of refurbishment and regeneration projects.

Working with the Contracts Manager within our growing building improvements and refresh division, providing the chance to play a significant part in the successful delivery of high-quality developments while helping drive the continued growth of this expanding area of our business.

As Senior Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the highest quality standards. You'll provide strong leadership on-site, overseeing subcontractors, coordinating works across multiple trades, and maintaining a proactive approach to programme management and problem solving.

Working closely with the Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor, and wider project team, you'll lead site coordination activities, communicate clear expectations, and ensure all work is carried out in line with project requirements, company standards, and health and safety regulations. You will also chair and contribute to site meetings, driving collaboration and ensuring project objectives are achieved.

A key aspect of the role will be reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and construction programmes to ensure effective delivery and efficient use of resources. You'll monitor progress, control quality, minimise waste, and identify opportunities to improve site performance throughout the construction lifecycle.

As a senior member of the delivery team, you'll also mentor and support site-based staff, contribute to planning and project strategy, and take ownership of specific responsibilities delegated by senior management, helping to ensure the successful completion of every development.

Qualifications

You’ll have solid experience in a construction or development setting, with strong knowledge of site operations and health and safety practices. You must have valid SMSTS and CSCS certifications, a First Aid qualification, and a Level 3 or 4 qualification such as an NVQ, Apprenticeship, or HNC in a relevant field. You’re confident reviewing construction drawings and comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.

A reliable team player, you work collaboratively to achieve shared outcomes and may already have experience supervising subcontractors or working in roles such as Assistant Site Manager or Site Manager. Additional training in site safety or tools would be beneficial.
