Project Overview
Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture is a 3‑year project delivering festivals, events, careers development and arts trails through a partnership of cultural organisations. Co‑created with young people, it aims to improve self‑esteem, resilience and social skills while building a lasting platform for cultural activity.
Responsibilities- Lead and facilitate up to 4 workshops for young people between July and September 2025.
- Co‑create a multi‑disciplinary art piece that can be reproduced in 2‑D print form and featured on an existing arts trail.
- Collaborate with a digital developer to integrate the artwork into a digital platform, creating an interactive and immersive experience.
- Ensure the final work aligns with three existing pieces on the trail.
- Work closely with the team to meet the needs of diverse participants and promote inclusive creative practice.
- Multi‑disciplinary artist based locally in Wolverhampton.
- Experience working directly with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Track record of facilitating co‑creation workshops and contributing to arts trails.
- Proficiency across various art mediums (e.g., photography, animation, ceramics, music, visual arts, poetry, creative writing).
Send a CV and a short cover letter (max 2 A4 pages) outlining your practice and experience delivering co‑creation workshops with young people, or submit a short video (up to 3 minutes). Email submissions to by 5pm, Wednesday 4th June 2025.
Timeline- Final date to receive applications:
Wednesday 4th June 2025. - Informal artist meetings:
Wednesday 11th June 2025 (times TBC). - Project activity begins:
July 2025. - Collaboration days with digital developer:
August and September 2025.
Fee: £1,000 (inclusive of travel and expenses). A separate materials budget of up to £500 per location/youth group will be available to support the creative and cultural activity.
