We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Dental Practice Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental practice in the beautiful leafy market town of Bridgnorth, Shropshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring exceptional patient care, and helping to grown the business. This role requires strong leadership skills, a background in management, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service in a professional environment. Experience in business finances and growth is a real advantage.
Please note that this is a fixed-term maternity cover position on a Thursday and Friday (08:30-17:30) with an additional day, or half day, available on a Monday or Wednesday. The starting date is flexible, but expected to be around the end of April/start of May 2026.
Duties:
- Supervise and support dental practice staff, including receptionists, dental nurses, dentists and hygienists;
- Oversee daily operational activities to ensure smooth workflow and high standards of patient care;
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient records, and billing processes efficiently;
- Implement and monitor practice policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations;
- Handle human resources tasks such as recruitment, training, appraisals, performance reviews, and staff development programmes;
- Maintain financial management responsibilities including budgeting, invoicing, and expense control;
- Ensure the practice adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements within the dental sector;
- Foster a welcoming environment for patients and staff alike to promote positive relationships and retention;
- Be involved in ideas for business strategy and growth.
Requirements:
- Proven supervising experience within a healthcare or dental setting;
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively;
- Experience in financial management including budgeting and cost control;
- Knowledge of human resources practices relevant to healthcare environments;
- Previous dental experience is advantageous but not essential; relevant healthcare management experience is required;
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail;
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with staff, patients, and external stakeholders;
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining professionalism and efficiency;
- GDC registration is a benefit, but not essential.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead our friendly team, while ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care through effective management.
In turn, the practice will pay for GDC registration (if applicable), offer access to free CPD, and discretional dental treatment, provide staff outings, and give in-depth support, as needed, from the Practice Owner.

The practice also uses dental compliance software to keep up-to-date with policies and procedures, and we are proud to say that we passed our first CQC inspection with flying colours last year.
