12‑month fixed term, full time (37 hours per week). Salary: £44,075 – £49,282.

Join the Environmental Health Service, part of the Regulation and Environment Service, to improve environmental and commercial standards in Wolverhampton. This fixed‑term role supports the team through food hygiene, health and safety inspections, accident and infectious disease investigations, and licensing consultations.

• Deliver food hygiene and food standards inspections in line with the FSA Food Law Code of Practice.
• Conduct health and safety inspections across commercial premises.
• Register and manage skin piercing premises.
• Investigate commercial complaints and accident/infectious disease incidents.
• Consult on licensing and planning application matters.
• Represent the Environmental Health Service in relevant committees.

• Previous experience in food hygiene and standards enforcement, and health and safety.
• Appropriate qualification to operate as an authorised officer delivering mandatory official food controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
