Adoption Panel Chair

Salary - £500 Full Day Panel – 4 items plus / £375 Half Day Panel – up to 3 items / £35 per hour - Appraisals of panel members / £35 per hour - Interviews for new panel members / £50 - To attend annual training event / £50 - Individual Appraisal / £50 - To attend / £25 per hour - Adoption@Heart Thematic Training events

Adoption@Heart is a Regional Adoption Agency working on behalf of Wolverhampton, Walsall and Dudley Council's and Sandwell Children’s Trust. We are currently recruiting to an Adoption Panel Chair.

Responsibilities
  • Attending and chairing Adoption panel meetings, ensuring that all items of business are covered and that the panel operates in accordance with Regulations and Guidance and the policies and procedures of the agency.
  • Preparing for panel meetings, reading panel papers carefully, identifying key issues and collating information from panel members and discussing with the panel advisor to ensure that the case is adequate for submission to panel.
  • Facilitating to the active participation of all panel members in contributing to the panel’s consideration of cases and to the making of clear and well‑evidenced recommendations with the reasons for these.
  • Reading and checking that minutes are clear and accurate prior to circulation to other panel members and then check, agree and sign final set of minutes to be sent to the Agency Decision Maker.
  • To attend meetings as required with the Agency Decision Makers and respond to any issues arising.
  • To be involved as appropriate in the recruitment and appointment of central list and panel members
  • To review, with the Agency Decision Maker, the performance of central list and panel members as the need arises.
