SEMH Teaching Assistant

West Midlands/ temporary / £100 - 120 per day

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a range of SEND provisions across Wolverhampton that support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. These settings are committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, resilience and independence.

The schools are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with additional day-to-day opportunities available. The successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils across both primary and secondary age groups, delivering classroom support, managing behaviour positively and confidently covering lessons when required as a Cover Supervisor.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant within a school or alternative provision
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Confidence leading a classroom and covering lessons when required
• A proactive, energetic and resilient approach
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
