Smile Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Wolverhampton for a qualified Key Stage 2 Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis.

This position is due to start within the next two weeks and is expected to continue until at least the Spring Term.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 6 class and will be expected to fulfil the full duties of a class teacher, including planning, preparation, assessment, marking, and progress tracking.

A comprehensive handover period will be provided to support a smooth transition into the role.

Role
  • Teaching a Year 6 class within a specialist SEN setting
  • Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Undertaking the full responsibilities of a class teacher
  • Working closely with support staff, parents, and the wider school team
  • Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour management
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 2 pupils or ability to deliver the Year 6 curriculum effectively
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A flexible and inclusive approach to teaching
  • An understanding of, or interest in, supporting pupils with special educational needs

Candidates from both primary and secondary trained teachers are welcomed. Candidates from a secondary school background who are confident in delivering lessons to Key Stage 2 pupils and adapting their teaching to meet the needs of learners within an SEN environment are encouraged to apply.
