Our specialist Woodbury SEN School in the WV10 area of Wolverhampton is recruiting for Teaching Assistants to join the team. The Headteacher Humayun Ahmed has recently been awarded "Horizon leader of the year" and is looking forward to meeting you. Woodbury School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls, based in Wolverhampton, meeting the diverse needs of pupils aged 7‑18 with a range of complex learning needs including Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
WhatYou’ll Get To Do
- Assisting students in their educational and social development.
- Providing support inside and outside of the classroom so they can fully engage in a wide range of activities.
- Helping to set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit their needs.
- Supporting teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in the classroom in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
- Working 1:1 with some students, giving them the time and support they need to learn.
- Experience of working with children who have behavioural support needs, with a good knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
- Grade C or above GCSE in English and Maths, or Level 1/2 equivalent functional skills qualification.
- Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.
