Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology

About this role

The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences offers high quality teaching, research and CPD across a range of subject areas. Our course portfolio is broad and includes our recently GPhC reaccredited Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) as well as BSc courses in Biomedical Science, Biological Sciences, Forensic Science, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Science and MSc courses in Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology and Biomedical Science.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology to join the team to contribute to the teaching across the School and contribute to the future development of our portfolio. We are specifically looking for subject expertise and relevant higher education experience to contribute to the delivery of pharmacological topics predominantly on our BSc Pharmacology and MPharm courses.

• Minimum first degree in a related discipline.
• Doctoral level qualification in a relevant area or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to contribute to the development and delivery of innovative learning and teaching across our courses, informed by research and/or previous higher education experience.
• Ability to contribute directly to the design and delivery of our newly validated BSc Pharmacology course and other courses, including MPharm.
• Developing track record in research in a relevant field, including research outputs that could contribute to the next .
• Some experience of attracting financial support for your research via external sources, including both national and international funding bodies.
• Achieved recognised teaching qualification such as FHEA or PGCertHE, or willingness to undertake such a qualification.
