Interim Head of Department - Social Sciences & Humanities

The Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences is currently seeking an interim Head of Department in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Creative Industries. • Line manage and support academic staff; provide leadership for localized development and change.
• Oversee the responsibilities, purpose and function of the School to deliver the University’s strategic plan.
• Lead the Humanities subject area and contribute to broader School management as needed (Creative Industries and Social Sciences).

• Track record of academic leadership with credibility in a discipline within the school (teaching, learning, research, knowledge exchange).
• Experience supporting the Deputy Head of School and Head of School to ensure diverse disciplines are delivered efficiently and effectively.
• Interim role of six months; must be able to work across campus locations; experience with partnerships and transnational education.
• First degree or equivalent;
  Masters degree in a relevant subject; membership and experience of working with industry and relevant professional bodies.

The role is interim for six months in the first instance and will be based in Wolverhampton, but you will be expected to work across all of our campus locations. You will also be expected to have experience of partnerships and transnational education.
