Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology About This Role

The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences offers high quality teaching, research and CPD across a range of subject areas. Our course portfolio is broad and includes our recently GPhC reaccredited Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) as well as BSc courses in Biomedical Science, Biological Sciences, Forensic Science, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Science and MSc courses in Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology and Biomedical Science.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology to join the team to contribute to the teaching across the School and contribute to the future development of our portfolio. We are specifically looking for subject expertise and relevant higher education experience to contribute to the delivery of pharmacological topics predominantly on our BSc Pharmacology and MPharm courses.

You will have a minimum of a first degree in a related discipline and either a doctoral level qualification in a relevant area, or similar professional experience.

We are keen to recruit someone who can contribute to the development and delivery of innovative learning and teaching across our courses, informed by your research and/or previous higher education experience. You will be able to contribute directly to the design and delivery of our newly validated BSc Pharmacology course as well as other courses, including Mpharm.

We would welcome an individual with research that would complement the current activity within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. You will have a developing track record in research in a relevant field, including research outputs that could contribute to the next , and some experience of attracting financial support for your research via external sources, including both national and international funding bodies.

You will have achieved a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. FHEA or PGCertHE) or be willing to undertake such a qualification.
