We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at
HMP Featherstone, working as a Business Teacher. This role is offered on a
permanent, full-time
basis, working
37
hours per week to deliver
SFEDI Level 2 and NCFE Level 3 courses. Candidates are required by the awarding organisation to hold a Level 3 or higher qualification in Business, or be able to demonstrate equivalent occupational competency, in order to teach the course material.

HMP Featherstone is a Category C men’s prison situated near Wolverhampton, England. The teams' aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.
Role ResponsibilitiesTeaching delivery of NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Skills for Business and SFEDI Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Set Up a New Business.

Skills, Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Hold a minimum Level 3 Qualification in Business and/or demonstrate equivalent occupational competency.
- Hold a teaching qualification or commit to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
- Hold a minimum of Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Demonstrate competency and be qualified to deliver NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Skills for Business (or equivalent)
- Demonstrate competency and be qualified to deliver SFEDI Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Set Up a New Business (or equivalent).
- Showcase transferable industry skills and business knowledge.
- Have experience creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
- Have a good previous track record of achieving quality targets and working collaboratively
- Engage with and produce accurate and timely reports
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Have an ability to motivate and enthuse learners in the subject matter
- Demonstrate good organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet deadlines/targets
