At Catcliffe Primary School, we strive to provide the best education for all our pupils in a caring and supportive environment, and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed Teaching Assistant to join our happy team.

We are looking for a skilled and confident Teaching Assistant who shares the ethos of our school and is committed to supporting our brilliant children and the community we serve.

Previous experience of working in a school, knowledge of SEND and experience of supporting the delivery of phonics would be an advantage.

Understanding of First Aid procedures.

Have experience of working with children (either paid or unpaid capacity), preferably in an education setting essential

• Experience planning and delivering learning activities essential
• Experience of assessment strategies essential

• Ability to manage the behaviour of pupils to promote and maintain order and a calm working environment for pupils essential
• Ability to motivate pupils, and how to help adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs essential
• Ability to work at own initiative and as part of a team essential
• Ability to work in a flexible and responsive way with tact, discretion and confidentiality essential
• Ability to relate well to children and adults essential
• Knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning strategies essential
• Awareness of the importance of working in partnership & confidentiality linked to home/pupil/teachers/schoolwork essential
• Understanding of principles of child development and learning process essential
• The ability to remain calm in stressful situations essential
• Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning essential
• Good literacy and numeracy skills essential
• Knowledge and understanding of the KS curriculum and its application essential
• Understand pupils’ progression of knowledge and skills in the relevant KS setting (s)

• Have Maths and English qualifications equivalent to GCSE A-C or 4-9 essential
• Have experience of working with children (either paid or unpaid capacity), preferably in an education setting essential
• Demonstrate the capability to meet the professional standards for teaching assistants essential
• Have attended CPD and training relevant to the post e.g. Behaviour Management and Child Protection
