We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our clients growing team over in the Wolverhampton area
- Understand client requirements and translate them into effective control solutions
- Produce electrical and controls concept designs including Functional Design Specifications, Safety Requirements Specifications, Single Line Diagrams, Network Topologies, Device Layouts, Cause & Effect Matrices and Safety Block Diagrams
- Hand over designs to the Hardware Design team and review outputs for accuracy and compliance
- Create software designs including Software Design Specifications and deliver software/configuration for PLC, HMI, SCADA, robots, drives and related systems
- Maintain the Technical Construction File throughout the project lifecycle
- Support and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing
- Lead or support commissioning activities and Site Acceptance Testing
· Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, client specifications and internal standards - Achieve project milestones and contribute to on-time delivery Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team
- Mentor and develop less-experienced engineers
- Undertake other duties as required to support project success
- Level 6 Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar controls engineering role
- Very good understanding of electrical control systems, including design and implementation
- Strong ability to work both as a team player and independently on own initiative Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Confident, proactive and organised approach to tasks
- Adaptable to different situations and project demands
- Effective problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude
