Ceto Talent is recruiting an Assistant Estimator - Construction / Civil Engineering for a leading provider of highway safety infrastructure, offering the opportunity to work on parapet systems and safety products across major highway projects.

• Civil Engineering or Construction degree (suitable for graduates), OR proven experience in highways or civil engineering sectors looking to move into estimating
• Basic understanding of estimating principles
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with ERP systems
• Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Keen willingness to learn and develop

This Assistant Estimator - Construction / Civil Engineering position offers the chance to work alongside an experienced Estimator, helping to provide accurate and competitive costings for highway safety products and parapet systems. You'll assist in preparing detailed estimates for supply and installation projects, working closely with design and engineering teams to ensure technical compliance.

As Assistant Estimator - Construction / Civil Engineering, you'll gain valuable experience in estimating for highway infrastructure projects, developing your skills whilst contributing to successful bid submissions for critical safety infrastructure.

In this Assistant Estimator - Construction / Civil Engineering role, you will :

• Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications related to parapet systems and safety products
• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for supply and installation, including materials, labour, plant and subcontractor elements
• Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure technical compliance and value engineering
• Identify risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders and communicate them clearly
• Support bid submissions with pricing breakdowns, clarifications and supporting documentation
• Collaborate with the Estimator to ensure smooth handover of successful bids
• Use ERP systems to manage estimating data and documentation
• Develop understanding of parapet systems and highway safety infrastructure

• Salary : £25,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
• Contract :
  Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)
