Moog Aircraft Group – Military Actuation is looking for an analytical engineer with a strong grasp of hydraulics and mechanical systems based in Wolverhampton. This technical role focuses on ensuring Moog’s primary flight control products meet stringent performance and safety requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Interpret and manage customer technical requirements for primary flight control products, ensuring they are accurately translated into Moog specifications.
  • Size and select actuators to meet performance requirements, using hydraulic and mechanical principles.
  • Perform detailed analysis and modelling of system performance, including simulation techniques to predict behaviour under various conditions.
  • Define and oversee compliance activities, including validation and verification plans, test schedules, and procedures.
  • Lead technical investigations into product issues, working with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports, including compliance matrices, test reports, and proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across design, stress, safety, and materials engineering to ensure robust solutions.
  • Support the full product lifecycle, from requirements definition through design, analysis, testing, qualification, and entry into service.
What We’re Looking For
  • Ideally a first‑class or high 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering, with exposure to hydraulics and systems engineering.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics and mechanical equipment performance analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in modelling and simulation (Mat Lab, Mathcad).
  • Ability to work across the full product lifecycle – from requirements definition to qualification and entry into service.
  • Clear communication and report‑writing skills; confident working independently and within multi‑disciplinary teams.
