Assistant Management Accountant

Think Accountancy & Finance are working on behalf of a growing and successful business to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on finance role and wants to be part of a business that is continuing to grow. Reporting into the senior finance team, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the accounts function and support the month-end process through to trial balance.

Key Responsibilities

* Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers

* Bank reconciliations

* Preparing accounts to trial balance

* Posting journals, accruals and prepayments

* Supplier statement reconciliations

* Matching invoices and delivery notes

* Processing and maintaining accurate financial records

* Supporting month-end activities

* Assisting with credit control where required

* Supporting payroll administration (desirable but not essential)

* General bookkeeping and finance administration duties

About You

We're looking for an individual with previous experience in an all-round bookkeeping or accounts role who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day finance activities.

You will ideally have:

* Experience preparing accounts to trial balance

* Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments and journal entries

* Excellent reconciliation skills

* Good systems and Excel knowledge

* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

* A proactive and organised approach to work

* The ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Payroll experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

* Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
