Are you an experienced Accountant or Bookkeeper looking for a varied, standalone role where you can genuinely make an impact?
We're recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing SME group based in Wolverhampton, seeking a capable finance professional to take ownership of the finance function across three group companies.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations while providing valuable financial insight to support continued business growth. With ambitious expansion plans, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable business where your contribution will be recognised and valued.
The RoleThis is a hands-on, all-round finance position with responsibility for:
- Managing the full bookkeeping and accounting function across three companies
- Accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control
- Bank, supplier and balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly journals, accruals and prepayments
- Producing monthly trial balances
- End-to-end payroll for approximately 50 employees
- VAT returns and statutory compliance
- Intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Cashflow monitoring and reporting
- Producing financial reports and supporting business decision making
- Working closely with the Managing Director to provide financial insight and analysis.
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership and thrives in a standalone finance role.
- 5-10 years' accounting or bookkeeping experience within an SME
- Experience managing the finances of multiple entities or group companies
- Strong knowledge of Quick Books, Sage and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence managing a finance function independently
- A proactive approach with strong communication skills
- AAT qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Salary of £35,000-£38,000
