We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team and deliver excellent clinical pharmacy input across a variety of clinical specialties.

This role offers the chance to work in diverse settings, contribute to safe and effective medicines management, and make a real difference to patient care.

This post is Bank and shifts will be offered on a "when required" basis.

We are seeking a motivated, dynamic, and forward‑thinking Clinical Pharmacist who brings:

The pharmacy department has strong education links with universities and we actively encourage staff development. Many of our pharmacists are working on their Advanced Pharmacist Portfolios or pursuing postgraduate studies.

The successful candidate will have experience of working within clinical services and a proven record of delivering effective change.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide a clinical pharmacy ward service to RWT patients and deliver professional pharmaceutical services, including reviewing prescriptions, dispensing aseptic preparation, and clinical pharmacy services in all areas of the department.
  • Supervise/provide professional support to junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, students and support staff.
  • Act as an independent prescriber once registered with the GPhC in line with local policy and entered in the trust NMP register.
  • Support safe prescribing and medication governance and participate in service improvement projects.
  • Continuously monitor drug expenditure against budgets for the relevant directorate and review and develop treatment guidelines and PGDs.
  • Participate in the training of pharmacists, doctors, nurses and undergraduate students.

Applicants must be registered with the GPhC, have a broad range of hospital pharmacy experience, and be working towards or hold a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent.
