Position: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)

About the Role

We are looking for a confident, experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Wolverhampton. You will be working 42 hours per week (07:45 AM/PM to 08:00 AM/PM), including days, nights and alternative weekends.

Cygnet Hospital Wolverhampton is a new state‑of‑the‑art PICU & Acute hospital for men, located in the West Midlands. The service features a 12‑bed PICU ward and a 17‑bed Acute ward. The hospital has a full multi‑disciplinary team (MDT) and supports the acute needs of adults requiring rapid access to mental health services, including those who may need an intensive care environment.

We focus on reducing length of stay and ensuring a swift, safe transition to the most appropriate, least restrictive environment.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
  • Produce outstanding written reports based on nursing assessments and observations.
  • Work closely with the management team to develop the service, audit and improve quality.
  • Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge and promote nursing excellence.
  • Under NMC guidelines, ensure that individual care plans are complete and maintained jointly with patients, relatives and other health‑care professionals.
  • Safe administration of medication as per local and national guidelines.
  • Provide effective direction and support to junior members of the team.
Essential Criteria
  • An experienced RMN with a current PIN number.
  • The ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits and demonstrate integrity in your role.
  • A good understanding of the latest nursing practices.
  • A commitment to patient recovery in order to effectively monitor, manage and reduce risk.
  • Compassion, resilience and a dedication to empower and support service user independence.
Desirable Criteria
  • The ability to deputise in a managerial role.
  • Previous experience of working in a PICU or Acute setting.
