Job Description & How to Apply Below

Wolverhampton Children's SLT Team is a supportive and innovative service.

Are you a newly qualified or experienced Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist and would like to join our team? Our band 5 staff work in mainstream schools, special schools and pre-school areas. We have an excellent NQP programme to support those new to the profession and established management and peer support for those with more experience.

Our SLT Teams are embedded as part of the wider MDTs. The children's service has a wealth of experience and support in areas such as dysfluency, cleft palate, severe speech, HI, ASD and dysphagia. You will have access to proactive SLT team leads, a supportive admin team, embedded supervision, and support structures for both professional development and wellbeing.

We benefit from being part of a large SLT service which includes adult SLT services allowing opportunities for cross-service development projects. The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is a teaching organisation and CPD is both well supported and actively encouraged. There is very strong AHP leadership.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide a high level of Speech and Language Therapy expertise to children with developmental communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
  • To manage a defined Speech and Language Therapy caseload independently.
  • To participate in the development and delivery of training to others.
  • To supervise Speech and Language Therapy Support Practitioners, volunteers and students.

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS trusts in the West Midlands providing primary, acute and community services and we are incredibly proud of the diversity of both our staff and the communities we serve. We are building a workforce that can help us to fulfil our values, improve quality of care for patients, and solve the health care problems of tomorrow.

We're passionate about the value that diversity of thinking and lived experience brings in enabling us to become a learning organisation and leader in delivering compassionate care for our patients.
