Overview

We are seeking to appoint a registrant member for our governing Council. The role involves contributing to setting strategy, exercising oversight and ensuring effective corporate governance across the UK, with Council work spanning all four countries of the UK.

We are seeking a new registrant member who will bring strong frontline clinical experience and demonstrable board level experience, to contribute to setting strategy, exercising oversight and ensuring effective corporate governance. Our Council comprises 12 members from across the UK (six lay and six registrant). It sets our strategy, defines our high-level policies and fulfils its statutory and charitable purposes.

Working across all four countries of the UK, our vision is to be an effective, relevant and compassionate regulator, who supports the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Regulation has a pivotal role to play in protecting patients and promoting the wellbeing of the workforce, with commitments to address inequality, embrace diversity, and support inclusion within healthcare, both as a regulator and an employer.

Championing this work is a key focus for our Council and you will play a vital part in shaping healthcare in the years ahead.

The time commitment for the appointments will average around three days a month and remuneration is £18,000 per year.
