An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join The Tobacco Dependency Treatment Service as a Tobacco Dependency Treatment Advisor.
Smoking remains the leading cause of preventable ill health and early death in England. Every year, an estimated 76,000 people die from a smoking related illness and many more live with tobacco related sickness. Stopping smoking therefore is one of the important decisions a person can make to improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust has developed a Tobacco Dependency Treatment Service to support the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP); this new Service offers behavioural support and referral to community services.
The postholder will be an integral member of the Tobacco Dependency Treatment Service and will work with the Tobacco Dependency Lead and Specialist Nurse to provide behavioural support and treatment in relation to tobacco smoking.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate good communication and motivational skills, have experience of working within a health promotion / health setting and have knowledge of tobacco treatment.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will support under direction the development of the service and the day-to-day running of the Tobacco Dependency Treatment Service to ensure safe, well organised, and evidence-based care is offered routinely to all identified smokers and provided to all that access the service.
The main duties of the job will include, but are not limited to the following:
To work with the Tobacco Dependency Treatment Service (TDTS) and Specialist Nurse to provide smoking cessation interventions in line with the evidence base and national standards for behavioural support and treatment in relation to tobacco smoking
To support the day-to-day running of the tobacco treatment service to ensure safe, well organised and evidence-based care is offered routinely to all identified smokers and provided to all that access the service
To support the delivery of the service key performance and reporting indicators for tobacco dependency
Maintain a high standard of work and prioritise own workload according to the needs of the service.

Person Specification- Experience of working in healthcare setting
