Paediatric Specialist – Emersons Green
We are looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate Paediatric Specialist to join our Community Equipment Service team. In this specialist role, you will work closely with therapy teams, prescribers, and Community Equipment Stores (CES) colleagues to organise, maintain, repair, and prepare paediatric equipment for children and families across the region.
You will become the subject matter expert for paediatric equipment within the service, ensuring all equipment is safe, functional, and suitable for use. The role combines technical expertise, training delivery, customer support, and hands‑on servicing both within the depot and out in the community.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with specialist knowledge of paediatric equipment who is passionate about supporting children to live safely and independently.
Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Specialist Support & Equipment Expertise- Provide specialist advice and guidance to prescribers and healthcare professionals regarding paediatric equipment.
- Support procurement teams with recommendations on product suitability, safety, and availability.
- Deliver demonstrations and structured training sessions on specialist paediatric equipment.
- Contribute to service development, procedures, and quality improvements.
- Service, maintain, and repair paediatric equipment in service users’ homes and within the depot.
- Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions or replacement needs.
- Carry out safety checks and risk assessments before installations and repairs.
- Use specialist tools and equipment safely, including weight rigs and lifting equipment.
- Drive a large company van to deliver and collect equipment from homes, hospitals, and healthcare settings.
- Safely load, transport, and install equipment including beds, hoists, and other specialist items.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Deliver a professional, empathetic, and person‑centred service to children, families, and carers.
- Work sensitively in a variety of home environments.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with company procedures.
