Senior/ Principal Medical Writer - Digital Medcomms

Location - Hybrid or remote with occasional travel (all travel expensed)

The Opportunity

An award-winning, fast-growing healthcare communications agency is looking to expand its specialist content team due to continued client growth and increasing demand for scientifically robust digital content.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Writer who enjoys combining scientific excellence with strategic thinking. The role offers the chance to work across a variety of therapy areas, creating high-quality medical content for both healthcare professionals and patients, while developing expertise in digital content strategy and search optimisation.

Full training will be provided in digital healthcare communications and content optimisation, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to expand their expertise beyond traditional medical writing.

The Role

As part of a collaborative content team, you will:

  • Research a wide range of therapy areas to produce scientifically accurate, evidence-based content.
  • Write engaging medical content for healthcare professionals, patients and the wider public.
  • Work alongside digital strategy specialists to develop content aligned with modern search and content best practice.
  • Support the development of content strategies through medical insight and scientific expertise.
  • Review and quality check content produced by more junior team members, ensuring scientific accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage multiple content projects while acting as a trusted point of contact for both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead content discussions during client meetings and provide strategic recommendations where appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard while supporting your own professional development.
About You

You'll ideally have:

  • A degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine or another relevant scientific discipline.
  • Previous experience within a medical communications agency or healthcare communications environment.
  • Strong medical writing experience across a range of deliverables
  • The ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, engaging content tailored to different audiences.
  • Experience managing client review cycles and incorporating medical and client feedback.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • An interest in digital healthcare communications

Please note, candidates must be UK-based and have the existing right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this position. The role offers remote flexibility, but the successful candidate will need to be located within the UK.
