Punjabi-Speaking Care Assistant

About the Role
JK Recruitment Hub is looking for a caring, reliable and experienced Punjabi-speaking Care Assistant to support an individual who requires person-centred care and assistance with daily living.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate confidently in Punjabi, as this is essential to the individual's communication needs, wellbeing and ability to express their choices and preferences.

Key Responsibilities
 
* Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support.
 
* Communicate effectively with the individual in Punjabi.
 
* Support with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting where required.
 
* Assist with mobility and safe moving and handling.
 
* Support with meal preparation, nutrition and hydration.
 
* Provide companionship and emotional reassurance.
 
* Support with medication in line with the care plan and relevant training.
 
* Encourage independence, choice and dignity.
 
* Support with appointments, shopping and activities within the community where required.
 
* Complete accurate daily care notes and report any concerns promptly.
 
* Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, infection control and health & safety procedures.
Essential Requirements
 
* Fluent or confident spoken Punjabi – essential.
 
* Previous experience within care or support work.
 
* A compassionate, patient and respectful approach.
 
* Good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care.
 
* Reliable with good communication skills.
 
* Able to work independently and follow an agreed care plan.
 
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete one.
 
* Right to Work in the UK.
What We’re Looking For
We are particularly looking for someone who can build a trusting relationship with the individual and provide consistent, culturally sensitive support. Being able to communicate in Punjabi is an essential requirement of this particular placement due to the individual's communication needs.
