This is a full-time, on-site Support Worker role based in Wolverhampton. The Support Worker will provide day-to-day practical and emotional support to adults with complex needs, helping with daily living skills, medication prompts and community engagement. Responsibilities include implementing person-centered support plans, promoting independence, and supporting individuals to participate in meaningful activities at home and in the community. The role involves monitoring wellbeing, documenting in daily notes, escalating concerns, and working closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent, safe, and high-quality support.
The Support Worker will also contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and safe environment, adhering to safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory standards.
- Experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar care or supported living role, with an understanding of complex needs and person-centered support.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting, professional relationships with individuals and families.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices, with a clear commitment to promoting safety, dignity, and rights.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including record-keeping and liaison with multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of positive behavior support and de-escalation techniques, or willingness to undertake training.
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as required by the service.
- Right to work in the UK and satisfactory background checks in line with regulatory requirements.
