HFBAC (Hiring For and Building Awesome Companies) helps bootstrapped founders and growing companies build teams that actually work. Our Chemistry First methodology prioritises team fit over impressive CVs—because 89% of hiring failures come from chemistry problems, not skill gaps. Future Roles Could Include- Talent Sourcer:
Finding exceptional candidates through creative sourcing strategies, Boolean searches, and relationship building—not just posting job ads - Candidate Screening Specialist:
Conducting Chemistry First assessments to evaluate team fit, working style compatibility, and cultural alignment - Client Delivery Partner:
Supporting end-to-end hiring processes for our clients, from brief through to offer acceptance - People Partner:
Working embedded with growing companies as their fractional talent partner
- Have recruitment experience (agency, in-house, or RPO) - but are frustrated by traditional CV-first approaches
- Understand that great hiring is about chemistry and fit, not just skills matching
- Are genuinely curious about what makes teams work (and what makes them fall apart)
- Can build rapport quickly with candidates and clients via video
- Are comfortable with Boolean searching and creative sourcing
- Thrive in remote, async environments with minimal supervision
- Have strong English communication skills
- Excited about helping founders build awesome companies
We're not a high-volume recruitment agency chasing numbers. We work with bootstrapped founders and growing companies who can't afford hiring mistakes. Our Chemistry First methodology means we spend more time understanding team dynamics and less time keyword-matching CVs.

When we do have an opening, our process includes a 30-45 minute video conversation with Helen, followed by a paid trial period (10-15 hours, $120-180 USD) to ensure we're the right fit for each other.
