Job Summary

The IT Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting LAN, WAN, and data center networks. The role requires expertise in Cisco and Juniper devices, network security, virtualization, and cloud platforms, with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and manage LAN, WAN, and data center network architectures
  • Configure and maintain Cisco ASA firewalls, Meraki switches/APs, and routers (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, IPsec VPNs, SD‑WAN)
  • Implement and monitor network security (IDS/IPS, PKI, LDAP/Active Directory, SSO, SSL/TLS)
  • Manage VMware vSphere and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for high availability and disaster recovery
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments using Solar Winds, Splunk, PRTG
  • Automate network configuration with Python, Bash, Power Shell, and Ansible
  • Support installations (fiber optics, VoIP, DNS/DHCP, SAN storage, Linux/UNIX system administration)
  • Collaborate in Agile teams supporting Dev Ops and CI/CD pipelines
  • Provide secure remote access via VPNs (IPsec/SSL)
  • Perform network monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning
  • Maintain documentation aligned with ITIL best practices
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience in LAN/WAN design and management
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, VPNs)
  • Hands‑on experience with Cisco IOS/ASA/Meraki, Juniper routers/switches
  • Experience with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, open

    SUSE) and UNIX (Solaris/BSD) systems
  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere, AWS, Azure; containerization (Citrix, Docker a plus)
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, Power Shell) for automation
  • Knowledge of network security principles, IDS/IPS, encryption standards (SSL/TLS)
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
  • Up to £43,000 annual salary
