The Role

As our Technical Services Support Technician
, you will work closely with the Academy Senior Technician to deliver 1st and 2nd line technical support across the school. You will be at the heart of our daily operations—keeping classroom technology running smoothly, supporting staff and pupils, and helping maintain a safe, secure digital environment in line with Department for Education (DfE) standards.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an enthusiastic technician looking to develop their technical skills, gain hands‑on experience across cloud, network, and endpoint systems, and make a genuine difference in a vibrant school community.

Contract: Full‑time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

Hands‑on Support: Provide prompt 1st/2nd line troubleshooting for PCs, laptops, tablets, interactive whiteboards, and AV equipment across classrooms and offices.

Cyber Security & Infrastructure: Assist in running 3‑2‑1 system backups, executing software patch cycles, managing user accounts, and supporting network maintenance.

Online Safety & Safeguarding: Help test and maintain web‑filtering and monitoring tools in line with DfE standards and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

Assistive Technology & Inclusion: Deploy and support digital accessibility tools (e.g., text‑to‑speech, screen readers) to ensure SEND pupils can fully access learning.

Event & Faith Support: Set up AV and sound systems for school assemblies, special events, and faith celebrations.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines technical curiosity with a positive, service‑oriented mindset (Seva).

GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).

Practical experience or a Level 3 qualification in IT / Computer Science.

Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, cloud platforms (Google Workspace), and basic hardware troubleshooting.

A supportive, patient approach when working with pupils and non‑technical staff.

Respect for and commitment to upholding the Sikh faith ethos, values, and community spirit of the Academy.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn school cyber security hygiene and digital safeguarding duties.
