Help shape the future of learning.

The University of Wolverhampton is transforming how we develop our people, harness digital innovation and prepare our workforce for the future. We"re looking for an exceptional Digital Learning Designer to help lead that journey.

This is far more than a traditional learning design role.

You’ll become the University"s specialist in digital learning, working at the forefront of learning technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and colleague development to create engaging, accessible and innovative learning experiences that support over 2,000 colleagues across academic and professional services.

If you're excited by technology, passionate about learning and enjoy turning ideas into engaging digital experiences that genuinely improve performance, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Working within our Organisational Development team, you'll design and develop high-quality digital learning that supports every stage of the colleague journey—from induction and onboarding through to leadership development, career progression and organisational change.

You will lead the development and continuous improvement of the University"s digital learning environment, including our Learning Management System, Talent Management System and Organisational Development SharePoint site, ensuring colleagues have an outstanding learning experience whenever and wherever they choose to learn.

Working collaboratively with subject experts and senior stakeholders, you'll transform complex information into engaging online learning, interactive resources, videos, toolkits and blended learning programmes that make learning accessible, relevant and impactful.

As digital learning continues to evolve, you will play a leading role in exploring and implementing emerging technologies, including the responsible and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence, ensuring the University remains at the forefront of modern learning practice.

Using data, insight and learning analytics, you will continually evaluate learning effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement and help shape the future direction of digital learning across the University.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines creativity with technical expertise.

You will have experience designing engaging digital learning using instructional design methodologies and modern authoring tools, alongside practical experience of Learning Management Systems and digital learning technologies.

You will be comfortable managing digital content, developing online resources and creating intuitive learning experiences that place users at the centre of everything you do.

You will also enjoy building relationships, influencing others and working collaboratively with colleagues from across the University to develop innovative solutions that support organisational priorities.

Whether your experience has been gained within Higher Education or another complex organisation, you will bring curiosity, creativity and a genuine passion for improving how people learn.

Experience or enthusiasm for using Artificial Intelligence within learning and development would be particularly welcomed.

Why Join Us?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking Human Resources team that is investing in innovation, digital transformation and the future of colleague development.

In return, you'll benefit from:

  • The opportunity to shape the University"s digital learning strategy and influence how colleagues learn for years to come.
  • A role where innovation, creativity and continuous improvement are actively encouraged.
  • Opportunities to explore emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, and apply them in meaningful ways.
  • A collaborative, supportive and ambitious team committed to making a real difference.
  • Excellent opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
  • A generous annual leave entitlement, competitive pension scheme and a range of flexible working and wellbeing benefits.
Our Values

Everything we do is underpinned by our ARIA values:

Accountable – We take responsibility, act with integrity and deliver on our commitments.

Resilient – We embrace change, overcome challenges and continually learn.

Inclusive – We value diversity, work collaboratively and create an environment where everyone can succeed.

Ambitious – We innovate, think differently and strive for excellence.

Ready to make an impact?

If you're passionate about digital learning, inspired by innovation and excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of learning at the University of Wolverhampton, we'd love to hear from you.
