The Jet Vac Operative role will require you to work in a two-person team. You will resolve various issues and offer our customers fantastic service when they need it the most.
Working within our communities, focusing on resolving issues such as blocked sewers, using an array of impressive vacuum, jetting and blockage clearing equipment. This role works on a shift pattern, which involves working 1 in 6 weekends, as well as a callout/standby rota.
Other things you may be involved in include:
- Carrying out in depth surveys of drainage systems to maintain, diagnose and determine the most appropriate solution. This can involve high risk work and man entry into large network systems.
- Liaising with other departments including our control centre, operations, and maintenance.
- Working within confined spaces and at heights.
- Operating your vehicle in compliance with road transport legislation and Severn Trent policies and procedures.
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained in a clean & roadworthy condition both internally and externally.
- To be able to do this role you must hold a driving licence.
- A Class 2 licence is desirable.
- A passion for doing a quality, right first‑time job, together with good attention to detail, to ensure you get to the root cause of issues and get them fixed.
- Self‑motivation, the ability to work as a team as well as autonomously and have an excellent work ethic.
- The ability and desire to build strong relationships with customers.
- Strong organisation skills with an interest in problem solving.
- Salary of £40,286.59 (plus weekend working and shift allowance).
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/sell up to 5 days per year).
