Job Title: Assistant Team Manager (Social Work) – Disabilities and Mental Health Team

Location: Wolverhampton, UK

Rate: £32.67 per hour

Contract Type: Locum (3 Months)

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00

We are delighted to offer an exciting locum opportunity for an experienced Assistant Team Manager to join the Disabilities and Mental Health Team in Wolverhampton. This full‑time role is ideal for a confident social work professional with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high‑quality adult social care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a high‑quality, responsive social work service to adults and carers
  • Provide effective managerial leadership, including supervision, appraisal, and performance management of staff
  • Offer professional advice, guidance, consultation, and coaching to team members
  • Manage day‑to‑day team operations, ensuring compliance with the Waiting Well Policy
  • Safeguard adults with care and support needs in line with statutory duties and best practice
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as required and contribute to service, policy, and practice development
  • Lead, motivate, and support staff while working collaboratively with other assistant team managers
  • Promote and embed strength‑based practice across the service
