Team Leader – Day Opportunities Service
City of Wolverhampton Council
Salary: Grade 6 (£36,363 – £40,777)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 6 pm)
Contract: Full time, permanent
Locations: Neil Dougherty Centre, Masefield Road – Wolverhampton, WV10 8SA;
Action for Independence, Albert Road – Wolverhampton, WV6 0AF
The Day Opportunities Service supports adults with learning disability or dementia across two sites. The Team Leader will supervise staff, promote independence, create community opportunities and ensure person‑centred, safe care.
Key responsibilities and qualifications- Share commitment to empowering individuals through choice and involvement
- Promote independence and enable individuals to have control over their lives
- Provide safe, compassionate, person‑centred support
- Have a background in supporting adults in community‑based settings
- Identify and create opportunities for individuals to interact within the local community
- Bring experience of working within Health & Social Care services
- Have experience supervising staff
- Participate in staff development, appraisal and training
- Uphold and promote equality, diversity and inclusion
- Work independently and as part of a team on own initiative
- Hold a relevant social care qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
- Undergo an enhanced DBS check prior to appointment
The role requires working 5 days out of 7, primarily Monday to Friday. The position involves working across the City of Wolverhampton.
